What is The Al'menged Project?

The Al'menged project is a fantasy world that has grown into its own universe, complete with art, languages, sciences, and multiple cultures that span the three phases within one universe.

The three phases of the Al'menged universe are-

Preikaph- The phase where magic rules everything, and the imaginary is common place in everyday life.
Midneard- The phase of the Miṱis- where technology and magic live side by side, yet each rejects the other.
Kell'egh- The phase of decay and things long past- like kings, queens, and other vile creatures.

-each one balanced against the other, dependent on its neighbor for its existence. The citizenry of The Al'menged however, can only live in one phase at a time, and they cease to exist in the other phases as soon as they leave them. It's like dual citizenship. For example, while you may not actually cease to exist when leaving for another country- you technically aren't a part of it anymore either... until you return, of course.

To a citizen of the Al'menged, this concept is not only very real, but it becomes very convoluted, very quickly. For instance- how do you keep track of things you own if two-thirds of them may not exist at any given point in time?

Which leads us back to counting... and wondering just how you would keep track of things in an environment like that. This project has grown into more than that now, and it keeps evolving. Its ultimate fate is still to be determined. Until then, this is its new home.

What are each of the sections about?

The website is divided into three main areas of interest. Information about the project itself, information about the universe the phases inhabit, and the catalogue of real-world applications and practical research that has sprung from the project.

This section provides information about the overall project, and important updates will appear here. Each phase has its own tab as well that leads to an overview of that phase and the information that is currently associated with it.

The research and education part of the project holds expanded areas of research interests and practical outreach material, as well as any research papers available for download.

The Codex, while currently offline, is an MDS-like catalogue of the many elements of the world and is currently being compiled into a database that will eventually power a Wikipedia-style repository of in-universe works, lore, cultures, languages, and the history that drives the Al'menged when it comes online.
